In February 2016 State Police in Fulton began investigating a complaint in which 19-year-old William J. Loomis of Fulton allegedly had a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old victim. Subsequent to investigation police identified a previous victim. Loomis is also accused of having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old victim when he was 17.
On March 18, at approximately 10:13 p.m., State Police in Fulton stopped a vehicle on State Route 48 in the town of Granby. Police observed alleged obvious signs of drug use within the vehicle both on the driver’s side of the vehicle and in the lap of the passenger. The driver and passenger were subsequently arrested.
Jim Farfaglia, a local author who has written a number of books on life in Central New York, made a presentation on his recent book, “Voices in the Storm: Stories From the Blizzard of ’66,” at the March 17 meeting of the Fulton Lions Club.
The U.S. and Canadian Seaway Corporations marked the opening of the Seaway’s 58th navigation season March 21 with the transit of Canada Steamship Lines’ Thunder Bay through Lock 3 on the Welland Canal. The ship, carrying a load of road salt, will be replenishing stocks depleted by ice storms which repeatedly struck Eastern Canada over the winter.
The Oswego Lions Club will hold its 18th annual Wine and Beer tasting with silent auction on April 1 at the American Foundry in Oswego. The event is scheduled for 6:30 to 9 p.m., with pre-sale tickets $15 and $20 at the door the night of the event.
Oswego Speedway will again provide ample camping space for race fans at all regular season events in 2016, located at the bottom of the Albany Street/Nolan Swift Memorial Drive hill in the flats camping lot. Weekend camping at all regular season events will be open from Friday to Sunday, for a $20 fee. Weekend only campers must clear the lot by end of day on Sunday.

On March 19, at approximately 12:47 a.m., State Police in Fulton stopped a vehicle on County Route 57 in the town of Schroeppel for a Vehicle and Traffic violation. Troopers interviewed the driver, Joshua R. Anguish, 28, of Phoenix, and determined he was intoxicated, according to the report.

The Oswego Middle School Hands on History Club recently traveled to Washington, DC to learn about the nation’s history and to tour the capital. During its two days in Washington, the group experienced many of the great attractions that Washington has to offer.
