The Oswego County Emergency Medical Services Advisory Council will honor emergency medical services providers for outstanding patient care during the annual Awards Banquet on May 13, at the Oasis at Thunder Island. The awards are based on the actions of emergency medical services (EMS) providers in the calendar year 2015.
Parents agree that feeding and sleep schedules are important to help keep their children healthy. The same goes for childhood immunizations. Vaccinating children on time is the best way to protect them against 14 serious and potentially deadly diseases before their second birthday.
Merle is a big lovey handsome young fella whose current job is “office cat.” He is totally in charge of all business operations, goes from lap to lap and computer to computer making sure that his directions are followed and that he gets the respect and attention (and kisses) he deserves. In spite of his huge responsibilities, he is laid back and totally easy-going.
New York is one of the most populous states in the nation, yet we continue to have one of the lowest rates of registered organ donors. April is Donate Life Month, a time to raise awareness about the importance of becoming a registered organ donor. The number of people on the waiting list in New York can be reduced if more people registered to become an organ donor.

Former U.S. Secretary of the Army John M. McHugh will receive an honorary doctoral degree from the State University of New York on May 14 at SUNY Oswego’s 155th Commencement ceremony.
The annual “Walk for Autism” drew a big crowd to Leighton Elementary School and the nearby Wilber Field on Saturday afternoon. Besides acting as a fundraiser, the event, sponsored by the task force, also focused attention on the plight of Autism victims in Oswego County.
Firefighters from Hannibal, Granby Center, Oswego Town, Fair Haven responded to a fully involved house fire on Peat Bed Road, near Kellogg Road earlier today (April 17).
On April 23, Mother Earth Baby will be host to the Oswego site of the sixth annual international Great Cloth Diaper Change and Healthy Baby Expo. This year’s event will take place at Elim Grace Church, 340 W. First St., from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
