Council Sets Hearing On ‘Pawnbroker Law,’ Fee

At its meeting Monday night, the Common Council authorized a public hearing regarding proposed Local Law No. 3 of the Year 2016 – A Local Law Amending Chapter 176, Pawnbrokers, of the Code of the City of Oswego. State Police: Children Located, Suspects Sought

UPDATE: Alicia Seelbach turned herself in this morning (April 29) to the Utica Police Department.
State Police said Thursday night the children have been found. The search continues for the two suspects.
The New York State Police and Chief Ronald J. Petrie of the village of Frankfort Police Department (Herkimer County) is asking for the public’s assistance with locating a mother and her two children.

NYS Amber Alert Issued

Issued out of Frankfort, NY the alert has been activated in two regions, one of which includes Oswego County. The following information is as written and directly taken from the NYS Amber Alert System website. Activation Date and Time: Thursday, April 28, 2016 – 6:35 PM. The Village of Frankfort Police Department has activated the New York State AMBER Alert and is investigating a child abduction that occurred near West Main Street, in Village of Frankfort, NY at about 2:21 PM on 4/22/2016.

School Budget Meeting, Meet The Candidates Scheduled

On May 3, there will be a committee and regular board meeting that will start at 5 p.m. and will be held in the OHS theater. At 6 p.m., the superintendent of schools and board of education will hold the annual meeting and election notice on the 2016-17 budget. Also, that night Oswego Classroom Teachers Association and Oswego City School District Home and School Association will hold a meet the candidate night immediately following the public hearing.
