The Oswego County Health Department is recognizing National Public Health week April 4 to 12. The Health Department is encouraging Oswego County residents to take healthier steps in their everyday lives like going for more walks or visiting their healthcare providers regularly for health screenings.
Oswego County continues to celebrate its bicentennial with another “History Moment” from Oswego County Legislator Shawn Doyle, District 3, and chairman of the Oswego County Bicentennial Committee. In honor of Black History Month in February, his talk at the monthly Legislature meeting highlighted local black residents and the Underground Railroad movement that swept across the county.
This big, beautiful girl is Tinkerbell. Her mom had to give her up when she went in an assisted living facility. And SHE had taken her from yet another lady who went into nursing care. So, this sweet and friendly girl, who purrs like a motor, “chats” with you like your best friend, and wants nothing more than to curl up on your lap, needs a forever home.
This year’s Bowl-A-Fun celebrates Oswego County Opportunities’ 50th anniversary of service to the community. Thanks to the generous support of many donors and sponsors, this “Fifty and Fabulous” bowling competition and birthday party is sure to be a success.
The Central New York Area Health Education Center is pleased to announce the opening of the annual application process for the Medical Academy of Science and Health (M.A.S.H.) Camp at Oswego Hospital, a two-day career exploration experience scheduled for August 3 and 4.
Fairgrieve Elementary students were recognized during a Morning Express program for exhibiting the school’s character education trait of perseverance throughout the month of March. Classroom teachers selected students for the honor based on their continued dedication to their classroom work and personal tasks or goals.
The eighth graders are participating in a program called the Memory Project, in which art students receive a photo of a child who has faced various challenges.
