Local Students Graduate from Le Moyne College
The following students graduated from Le Moyne College on Sunday, May 22, on the College’s campus. Approximately 635 members of the class of 2016 participated in the 66th commencement ceremony.

Consisting of Sandusky’s Hy-Miler, Oswego Speedway’s Budweiser International Classic 200, and New Hampshire’s Star Speedway Classic, the Triple Crown is rich in history and tradition, dating back to 1966 when all three races were first run in the same season.
Hannibal residents have recently learned of the loss of one of the community’s longest known assets. The Hannibal Village Market IGA has been Hannibal’s only withstanding full-scale grocery store for the past 50 years and one of few remaining family owned stores locally. Current owner, Jim Mirabito has ran the store for the last 24 years and recently confirmed that Tops will be taking over the store by the end of summer.
Holly J. Cummins, 59, of Hannibal, passed away on Tuesday July 26, 2016, at home.
Margaret M. Griffin, 93, a resident of Route 104A in the town of Oswego, passed away Tuesday July 26, 2016, at St. Luke Health Services.
The driver, Morgan O’Neil, 20, from Oswego, was found to be operating the vehicle without insurance, police said. She was further found to allegedly be in possession of marijuana and heroin. Both passengers, Zachery Palmitese, and Marc Walpole, from Oswego, were also in possession of heroin, according to the report.
At 10:55 a.m. today (July 27), State Police stopped a vehicle on State Route 48 at Lamson Road, for a traffic violation. Investigation at the scene revealed the driver and sole occupant, Cody Dygert, from Fulton, was allegedly operating with a suspended permit, and was also in possession of heroin.
In an effort to help make communities across Central New York safer, State Senator Patty Ritchie announced she has secured $25,000 in special funding to help support local volunteer fire departments.
Rebecca F. Kaminuk, 82, of Fulton, died Wednesday July 20, 2016, in Oswego Hospital.
