Fire Damages West Utica Street Apartments
Oswego Fire Department personnel were dispatched to 166 West Utica Street for a reported structure fire at 2:34 am. today (July 28). Firefighters arrived on the scene at 2:38 a.m. and reported heavy smoke showing from the two-story multiple occupancy. Residents of the two apartments reported that they were in bed at the time of the fire, and that they smelled smoke and were able to exit the structure.

The Oswego County Health Department offers a variety of services to all residents of Oswego County, including preventive health services, certified hospice, and a maternal and child health program. Beginning Sept. 1, immunization clinics in Pulaski will be by appointment only.

Residents of The Gardens Assisted Living Community anxiously wait to experience their first lunch at Kiyomi Japanese Steak House in Oswego. The residents watched intently as the chef prepared lunch right before their eyes on the restaurant’s Hibachi grill.

Commissioned Paintings depict Historical Fulton
For the premiere of the family musical Pollyanna, CNY Arts Center commissioned a collection of paintings of Fulton in the early 1900s, the time period of the story. Chosen from historical postcards, artist Melinda Lamb, 2nd year art student at Cayuga Community College, has recreated paintings of five familiar locations. The paintings will hang onstage as part of the backdrop for the musical set to open August 5 for a two-week run at the Arts Center.

Countdown To Harborfest Under Way
The countdown to Harborfest 2016 is at a fever pitch, according to executive director Peter Myles. Activity got under way Wednesday at the midway. The Army Band will perform on the NRG Lakeview Stage in Breitbeck Park at 5:15 p.m. today (July 28) followed at 7 p.m. by Prime Time Horns.
