The Oswego State women’s soccer team’s season is just weeks away and two individuals are returning with a new experience under their belts. Mary Morrison (of Fulton) and Sarah Grupp traveled to Costa Rica for eight days in May for Beyond Sports’ Fourth Annual Costa Rica Women’s Soccer Tour.
John Strong from Fulton, serving with the Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 27th Brigade Special Troops Battalion, is promoted to the rank of Sergeant.
On September 2, Paul V. Moore High School will open its doors to students and families of the incoming freshmen class from 4:30 until 6 p.m. Students will have the opportunity to get their schedules, walk the hallways, find their classrooms and get to know where important places in the building are, such as the cafeteria, gymnasium, auditorium, etc.
In his new duties, he will be in charge of more than 50 sales professionals throughout all Usherwood’s Northeast markets and will further expand the sales and solutions offerings in those markets.
The Artswego Performing Arts Series at SUNY Oswego marks a quarter-century of presenting exceptional artists to Oswego and Central New York audiences. Highlighting the celebratory 2016-17 season is a return engagement by Ailey II, the exuberant young repertory ensemble of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater.
Each year, Oswego Harborfest holds its annual 50/50 raffle. Tickets were sold prior to and during the festival and the winner was determined the Monday following the festival. Oswego resident Nicholas Butchko is the recipient of this year’s prize, totaling $1,390.
A welcome reception for the Leadership Oswego County class of 2017 will take place from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Sept. 7, in Room 118 of SUNY Oswego’s Rich Hall. The reception — open to program alumni, employers and interested community members — will offer light refreshments.
The Pulaski Historical Society will hold the next in its series of Brown Bag Lunches on Sept. 14, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. You are invited to bring your lunch (or pick up some take-out at a local eatery) and come join us in the Carriage House at the Pulaski Historical Society.
All FCSD students in third grade through eighth grade had the opportunity to sit for NYS assessments earlier this school year. The results of such testing have recently become available to school officials. For the Fulton City School District specifically, school officials have found reason to celebrate in the broad overview of the results.
