Oswego Title Contenders: Otto Sitterly Trails in Search of Record Eighth Supermodified Championship
One of the Novelis Supermodified contenders aiming at the 2016 Oswego Speedway track championship as a part of this Saturday’s $5 admission track championship special presented by Bosco’s Food Market and U-Pull U-Save Auto Parts is seven-time Speedway champion Otto Sitterly of Canajoharie, NY. Despite scoring eight top five finishes in ten starts this season, Sitterly has yet to find Turning Stone Resort Casino Victory lane this year.
Fulton City School District Kindergarten Registration Set
The Fulton City School District invites children who turn five years old by December 1, 2016, to register for kindergarten. You may come into our Central Registrar’s Office Mondays – Fridays from 8 a.m. – noon and 1 to 3 p.m. Please bring the following required information: an original birth certificate (with raised seal), up-to-date immunization record, and proof of residency.

Fulton Police Charge Man With Drug Possession After He Flees in a Vehicle
Today (August 16), a Fulton police officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation in the 300 block of East Broadway. Contact was made with the driver, Scott E. Brien, 45, of Fulton, and while waiting for the response of a computerized check of the driver’s license status the vehicle began to flee at a high rate of speed, police said.
VOW Foundation Presents Annual Suicide Prevention ‘Stride to Save Lives’ Event
Runners and walkers, including suicide survivors and mental health advocates, will gather to raise awareness for Mental Health and Suicide Prevention as they participate in the Suicide Prevention “Stride to Save Lives” which is being presented by the Victor Orlando Woolson Foundation (VOW). Proceeds raised will benefit SAVE – Suicide Awareness Voices of Education. Oswego County will be hosting the September 24 event at the SUNY Oswego campus.
Oswego YMCA skateboard Competition Scheduled
The Oswego YMCA is offering an exciting opportunity for area skateboard enthusiasts on August 21. From noon to 4 p.m., the Oswego YMCA will host a skateboard competition in the Pathfinder Bank parking area located on East Second Street, between East Bridge and Oneida streets. Winona Forest Hosts Deer Fly Trail Competition Aug. 27
Winona Forest Recreation Association will host the 5- and 10-K Deer Fly Trail Race Aug. 27 at Winona Forest Recreation Area. The course covers beautiful wooded and scenic trails through northern Oswego and southern Jefferson counties and is suitable for all ages and abilities.
