The Oswego Middle School Con Brio vocal group helped make the Yuletide season bright with a tribute to the holiday season at Bishop’s Commons Enriched Housing Residence in Oswego. The seventh and eighth graders performed both traditional holiday favorites as well as more popular selections.

A longstanding tradition at Hannibal High School continued as 30 members of the senior class recently took the stage for this year’s fall production of “The Bachelor King.”
In another couple of weeks the remaining 6 firefighters of the 17 positions cut from the department in the 2017 budget, will be laid off. This will be a first for Oswego and the largest cut to a fire department in recent history across the state. This equals a 33% reduction in the city’s firefighting force. As a result, the number of firefighters on duty at any given time has been reduced to 7.
On Sunday, December 18, Lake City Masonic Lodge at 765 E. Seneca St., held a breakfast with Santa.
A tremendous crowd gathered on Saturday at Lighthouse Lanes in Oswego to recognize and honor the record number of competitors that participated in the 2016 racing season at Oswego Kartway. Champions were declared in 28 different categories between the Kartway’s 2016 Driver’

The Live Love Life blood drive in honor of Cooper Levine will be held for the fourth time on January 4. This event is slated for the Oswego Elks Lodge 271 at 132 W. Fifth St., from noon to 6 p.m.
Under the direction of Colleen Dailey, the Hannibal High School senior band recently performed a winter concert before an audience full of proud family members and friends.
