The Oswego County Legislature’s Human Services Committee presented Jill Wood with a certificate of appreciation for her 25 years of service.
Goldilocks is not only beautiful, with her long golden fur and swishy fluffy tail – she has personality to spare – the Miss Congeniality of the cat world. She’s a hugger, cuddler and lap sitter. But, her favorite spot is riding around on your shoulder.
Members of the SUNY Oswego Men’s and Women’s Lakers ice hockey teams presented United Way of Greater Oswego County with a donation of non-perishable food items and toys. The items, which were collected at both men’s and women’s hockey games, were shared with Human Concerns and Catholic Charities.
The Governor recently signed a bill that will reform the Freedom of Information Law (FOIL) to potentially expedite the process of obtaining public records. The measure passed with unanimous support in both the Senate and the Assembly in June and will become effective in the spring of 2017. Our Freedom of Information Law is a tool that anyone can use. The legislation establishing the FOIL process was passed in 1978.
All Oswego County offices, solid waste transfer stations, the Bristol Hill Landfill and the Materials Recovery Facility will be closed on Monday, Dec. 26, in observance of Christmas Day, and Monday, Jan. 2, for New Year’s Day.
At a recent Fulton Sunrise Rotary meeting, Rotarian and administrative director of Fulton Block Builders Linda Eagan introduced the Fulton Block Builder webmaster Penny Halsted. She spoke about this brand new organization dedicated to revitalizing our neighborhoods one block at a time.
