Fulton Receives Grant for Footpaths, A First Step Toward Bigger Picture for City

The city of Fulton was one of many Oswego County municipalities that benefited from New York State Regional Economic Development Council grant money awarded Dec 8. In the city of Fulton, $61,500 was awarded for a feasibility study to determine the cost of developing eight recreational trails throughout the city of Fulton as envisioned by the volunteer group, Fulton Footpaths. However, the feasibility study and eventual construction of the trials are largely dependent on the approval of an updated Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP) which a committee of city officials and volunteers have readily been working on.

Nine Mile Point Unit I Goes Offline

Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station Unit 1 was removed from service today (Dec. 10) at approximately 9 a.m. due to vibration indications on the main turbine, which is located on the non-nuclear side of the plant. Operators took the appropriate action to shut down the unit in accordance with their procedures and training. Technicians are working to identify the cause of the issue and determine required repairs.

There are an amazing number of historical sites dating back to Neolithic times. Even though more bombs fell on Malta during World War II than any other place, the reconstruction maintained the island’s architectural integrity.

The No. 1/1 Oswego State men’s ice hockey team erased a two-goal deficit with four unanswered tallies to end the game in a 4-2 victory at Fredonia on Friday night. Oswego’s win keeps the team perfect on the year at 10-0-0 overall and 8-0-0 in the SUNYAC.

Granby House Fire Claims Life

At 6:04 p.m. today (Dec. 9) members of the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office responded to 36 Chase Road in the town of Granby for a reported structure fire. A single-family residence was in flames upon arrival. It was reported to be occupied by one individual. Fire personnel recovered one person from the burning structure promptly upon arrival and he was pronounced dead upon recovery.
