Women’s History: Right to Vote Had Beginnings in Upstate New York

March is Women’s History Month and many of the early crusaders who fought for the right to vote lived in Upstate New York. Men and women helped this cause but three Upstate women in particular, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Susan B. Anthony and Matilda Josyln Gage, are credited with shaping the national conversation in the mid and late 1800s, which led to Women’s Suffrage in 1920.

Fulton Man Charged With Providing Two Minors With Marijuana

On March 26, at approximately 7:59 p.m., State Police from Fulton observed an occupied vehicle parked with the engine shut off, in the Town of Oswego Office Building on County Route 7. The trooper stopped to conduct a welfare check on the occupants and ensure they did not need assistance. Upon approaching the vehicle the trooper smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming out of the vehicle, according to the report.

Fulton Man Charged With Felony Driving While Intoxicated

On Sunday March 27, at approximately 1:19 a.m., State Police in Fulton stopped a vehicle on State Route 481 in the town of Volney, for failing to dim its headlights and operating erratically. Investigation at the scene determined the operator, Robert A. Wavle, 40, of Fulton, was intoxicated, according to police.
