Step One Creative, an Oswego-based advertising design and public relations firm has announced that Oswego native Rachael Purtell has joined the agency as a winter intern, according to President Shane R. Stepien.
Each year motorsports news affiliate Speed51.com conducts their annual vote for short track racing’s best of, known as “The 51s”, presented by JEGS. The 2016 edition of “The 51s” sees Oswego Speedway nominated in two headline categories, first for Short Track of the Year as well as Best Short Track/Series Social Media.

County taxpayers have the option of paying their tax bill in two installments. However, if they do, they face a penalty. Legislator Dan Farfaglia (D – 24th) is proposing amending the interest rate paid on property taxes that are paid in installments. He wants counties to be able to establish their own lower (or maybe eliminate) interest rate on real property taxes paid in installments.
A panel of historians will commemorate International Holocaust Remembrance Day, Jan. 27 with an illustrated program on the Art and Artists of the Fort Ontario Emergency Refugee Shelter (1944–1946).
