Delores A. Kompe-Meyers, 86, of Red Creek, NY, formerly of Cicero NY, passed away Wednesday December 28, 2016, after a brief illness, surrounded by her friends and family.
If you remember, back over a year ago I asked why Onondaga and not Oswego for the Inland Port. At that time, there was only one area in Onondaga County looking to be the site of the Inland Port and its almost 2,000 high-paying jobs. It was Jamesville. The residents spoke out against it and didn’t want it in their backyards. The people of Fulton and Oswego County want it.

Oswego Rotary recently hosted Stephanie Montero and Jeff Parker from ARISE speaking about the NYS Office of the State Long Term Care Ombudsman program. At its most recent annual holiday gathering, Northern Oswego County Health Services celebrated Sharon Ellis’ 30 years with the organization. Ellis is a familiar face to hundreds of children in the northern Oswego County area where her recent positions have been as a nurse practitioner in the School-Based Health Centers at the Lura Sharp Elementary School and Sandy Creek Central School.
Looking back at 2016, there are many accomplishments worth noting and other items that remain on the to-do list. After a tumultuous year, the community finally received good news August 9 that FitzPatrick would remain operational and that Exelon had reached an agreement to purchase FitzPatrick from Entergy. This announcement came after the new Clean Energy Standard was adopted by the Public Service Commission.
