Pet of the Week – Gabrielle
Gabrielle was surrendered to the Humane Society by a well-meaning but not very well-equipped “cat lover” who had acquired 24 cats. We are helping her find homes for most of them, one by one. Gabrielle, as you can see, is a beautiful young tortie, as friendly and laid back as can be.

Fulton Veterans Host Memorial Day Ceremony
The Fulton Veterans Council will host a Memorial Day ceremony beginning at 9 a.m. May 29, in St. Mary’s Cemetery. The ceremony will continue to Mount Adnah Cemetery and the Fulton War Memorial, ending in Veterans’ Park.

Applications For Oswego Hospital’s MASH Camp Due June 8
Area students entering the eighth or ninth grades in the fall can learn more about healthcare careers this July at Oswego Hospital’s MASH Camp. This year’s MASH Camp (Medical Academy of Science and Health) at Oswego Hospital will be held August 2 and 3 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days.

Oswego Professor Adds ‘Logic’ To Open SUNY Textbooks
SUNY Oswego philosophy professor and chair Craig DeLancey recently made a contribution to the State University system’s freely accessible Open Educational Resources, publishing “A Concise Introduction to Logic” as an Open SUNY Textbook. “I saw a general announcement from Open SUNY Textbooks, an open call for authors,” DeLancey said. “I thought, ‘That’s an interesting project.'”

Mock DWI Prepares Students For Prom, Graduation Season
The Oswego County Stop DWI Program has hosted mock DWI scenarios at all school districts throughout Oswego County since 2006 when the first event took place at Phoenix High School. Oswego High School held the mock DWI presentation last week as they do every year in May for the junior class while all other districts hold the presentation every other year for junior and senior classes.
