Today (May 26), some 7,556 miles from Fulton, Tim Conners will start his journey to summit Mt. Kilimanjaro at it’s peak height of 19,341 feet, the highest point on the African continent. Conners, a 22-year-old Fulton native, is climbing the mountain as part of his fundraiser mission, MounTimPossible to give back to organizations he says saved his life and to share his mantra to “redefine possible.”
Middle School students from Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Central School District recently spent a day operating WCNY’s Enterprise America City, an exciting hands-on program where students apply STEM (science, technology, engineering and math), financial and civic literacy skills they have learned in class.
Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) began its 149th Commencement celebrations with the graduate students’ ceremony on May 11, awarding nearly 800 masters and doctoral degrees. Justin Okay of Pulaski, N.Y., was awarded a master of engineering degree in power systems engineering.
Eric Hamilton of the nationally-ranked Oswego State baseball team earned All-America honors from both ABCA/Rawlings and D3baseball.com on Thursday. It is the second-straight year Hamilton has appeared on those entities’ All-America squads, collecting second team accolades from both in 2017. The Lakers are in action today (May 26).
A program that began with opening day May 13 which will continue throughout the speedway’s full-schedule with the exception of Budweiser International Classic Weekend, guests will have the opportunity to stay at the Holiday Inn Express for a discounted 10% off rate after purchasing tickets to the speedway’s racing program taking place during their stay.
While Oswego Speedway’s fan favorite Memorial Day Weekend program featuring the Jim Shampine, Jack Murphy and Tony White Memorial events for the Novelis Supermodifieds, ISMA Supermodifieds and Pathfinder Bank SBS will not officially take place until Saturday, race fans and teams will have the opportunity for a taste of what to expect this coming weekend throughout the evening Friday.
