Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oswego County is still accepting registrations into its Summer Shooting Sports Program. This program is open to all girls and boys ages 12 to 19 who are interested in in shotgun and muzzleloading or rifle. The programs will be conducted as a six-week course concluding with a field day.
Officials at Michaud Residential Health Services, an eighty-nine bed nursing home located in the city of Fulton announced that they are pursuing a plan to cease operations and close within the year. The New York State Department of Health has reviewed and approved a comprehensive plan of closure submitted on behalf of Michaud Residential Health Services. The Department of Health approved plan of closure includes a targeted closing date on or about October 1, 2017.
Oswego AmeriCorps members Bailey Lutz and Zac Vaccaro are working in conjunction with the Fulton City Parks and Recreation office to create a summer program that’s available for children in preschool up to sixth grade. The program got started June 26 and will run until mid-August.
This Saturday, July 8, Fulton Speedway major marketing partner McDonald’s Restaurants will present a night of fun and racing on Family Autograph night, one of the most popular nights on the speedway schedule. Not only is it McDonald’s night at the speedway, their famous Hamburglar will also be making an appearance to meet fans.

Oswego’s Fort Ontario State Historic Site, one of the nation’s most historically significant military sites, will be featured in a new exhibition at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C. The display, “America’s Response to the Holocaust,” is scheduled to debut between 2018 and 2019. It will include a section of the original fence that surrounded the post during World War II when it served as the only refugee shelter in the United States for victims of the Nazi Holocaust.
Top Hat Solutions, CNY Arts Center’s resident comedy troupe, will launch the new stage at the downtown location, 47 S. First St., July 8 at 9 p.m. Doors open at 8:30 p.m. The Hotspot is the newest rendition of the downtown location across from the gazebo in Fulton.
