Supermodified fans will be busy this week as the 12th Oswego Speedway Old-Timers Reunion will commence on Saturday, August 5, just a matter of hours before the speedway’s ‘Retro Night’ featuring a 45-lap Novelis Supermodified main event. The reunion, once again coordinated by Jim Laccardi and Jim Ferlito in 2017, will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Lighthouse Lanes, located directly across from the Speedway on Jim Shampine Drive.
Further investigation into this accident has revealed that on August 1, at approximately 12:35 p.m., the victim, 13-year-old Lucas Delong and his 12-year-old friend, left the Delong residence on River Road en route to the Northwest YMCA, which is also located on River Road, in very close proximity to the Delong residence. While walking southbound on the east shoulder of the road, Lucas noticed that his cat had followed them from his residence and was walking with them.Lucas picked the cat up and both boys turned around and began to walk north, to return the cat to the Delong residence.
On August 1, State Police arrested 28-year-old Keith A. Holley from Hannibal, for 2 counts of Petit Larceny. He was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Granby Court on August 7 at 7 p.m.
Lloyd Matthew Beeman, 89, of Phoenix, NY, passed away on Monday July 31, 2017, after a brief stay at the Manor at Seneca Hill, Inc. in the town of Volney.
Oswego Town Highway Superintendent David Sterio has announced that paving work in the town of Oswego has been completed for the season. Furniss Station Road and Regan Drive have been re-surfaced using a “Micro-Pave” instead of the more common #7 asphalt.
