Hundreds of events, such as the “Madeline in Oswego” Bemelmans Festival, will be included in the 2018 Summer-Fall calendar of events produced by the Oswego County Tourism Office this spring. This year’s Madeline Festival will be June 2 at Fort Ontario State Historic Site and the Oswego Art Association. The event features a children’s parade, kite-making and kite-flying, and a variety of family activities celebrating Ludwig Bemelmans’ beloved Madeline characters. The revitalization program, launched in Fulton in 2017 based off the Healthy Neighborhood Initiative, offers approved homeowners the opportunity to recapture a dollar-for-dollar match up to $1,000 on funds they use to make exterior home improvements.
