The Fulton Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 312 E. Broadway around 1:30 a.m today (Jan. 9). When firefighters arrived, they found flames coming out of the attic and rear roof section of the two-story wood frame apartment building. The building has multiple apartments. All occupants reportedly were able to get out safe.
Springside at Seneca Hill’s knitting club has once again donated its handiwork to Friends of Oswego County Hospice. Members of the group have given to the local hospice organization their handmade blankets and lap blankets in memory of Inger Stern, a club member who passed away recently.
The Oswego County Legislature elected District 17 Legislator Shane Broadwell as Chairman of the Legislature at its organizational meeting Jan. 4. Broadwell has represented portions of the city of Oswego and town of Scriba on the Legislature since 2012.
Teenage up-and-comer Tyler Thompson had never driven a TQ Midget before arriving at the PPL Center in Allentown, Pa., on January, 5. By the end of the weekend, Thompson earned the right to battle wheel to wheel with some of the biggest names in short track racing as a part of the Indoor Auto Racing Championship fueled by VP Racing Fuels.
Shadow is a quiet calm friendly boy about two years old. He is fond of the other cats in his foster home and loves to cuddle with his buddy, Scruffy, and with his people. He tolerates the rottie in his foster home.
Gerald Fisher, 86, of Fulton, passed away peacefully at Seneca Hill Manor, Volney, NY, on Monday January 8, 2018.

UPDATE: 95-year-old William Salvage has been located
The city of Fulton Police Department was asking for the public’s assistance in locating William Salvage of the town of Volney. He had been last seen today (Jan. 8) at about 4 p.m. at a doctor’s office in the city of Fulton.
This state-funded program supports strategic investments at public-use airports across New York to ensure safety, modernize aviation-related facilities, leverage private investment and sustain and create well-paying aeronautical-related jobs. Funds are earmarked for Oswego County Airport’s Terminal Building Construction.
Anna L. Goss, 96, formerly of Fulton and more recently of Brandon, Miss., passed away peacefully at Merit Health, Miss., on Wednesday January 3, 2018.
