Five members of the nationally ranked Oswego State men’s ice hockey team have been selected for the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) All-Conference teams, as voted on by league coaches.
Mayor Billy Barlow announced today (Feb. 23) the launch of the Resident Recruitment Initiative, a new partnership between the city of Oswego and four major employers in and around the Oswego community. Created by Mayor Barlow and the city of Oswego, the Resident Recruitment Initiative is a comprehensive introduction and guide to the Oswego community, that will be given to new recruits and new employees of participating employers upon their hiring and orientation.
Edge Artistic Dance Center will host Breakfast with the Easter Bunny on March 11 at the Oswego Elks Lodge, 132 W. Fifth St. The event will be held from 8:30 – 11:30 a.m. and will benefit the EADC dancers as well as the EADC Booster Club.

Starting on March 5, the Fulton Amateur Radio Club will host a 10-week course designed for Technician Class licensees who are interested in obtaining their General Class Amateur (Ham) Radio license. Penfield Library will host “Voices of Oswego Veterans” from March 1 to April 23 as part of the yearlong School of Communication, Media and the Arts project “Many Voices, One Oswego,” which promotes inclusion of many groups, including veterans, on the college campus.
Preparations for the 37th annual Memorial Day Salute event have begun. This year, the event will be held at the Fulton Community Center at Recreation Park on May 26. The theme for the parade and celebration will be “150 Years Celebrating Memorial Day Salute” and will honor Veteran of the Year, Bob LaRock.
