Cayuga Community College’s student theater group will shine a light on a historic photojournalist whose contributions to photography were matched only by her resistance to societal conventions. Performances are scheduled for March 15-17 and March 22-24 at the Irene A. Bisgrove Community Theatre at Cayuga Community College.
CNY Arts Center is proud to welcome returning guest director Cara D’Emanuele to present an audition workshop as part of the monthly Talent Share open mic night. It will be held at the Arts HotSpot, 47 S. First St. in downtown Fulton, March 24 at 7 p.m.
The devastation SUNY Oswego geology major Kimberly Smith saw as a volunteer last summer helping with cleanup at Sandy Island State Park drove her to study the impact of high water levels on wildlife habitat in the environmentally unique dunes of eastern Lake Ontario. The senior from Ozone Park, Queens, plans to share her findings April 4 during the scholarly poster presentation session at Quest, SUNY Oswego’s daylong symposium celebrating student, faculty and staff research and creativity.
The Oswego County Health Department offers a variety of services to all residents of Oswego County, including preventive health services, certified hospice, and a maternal and child health program.
While on the faculty-led trip, the students attended lectures at LASALLE College of the Arts, visited renowned museums and photographed the city. They also tried exotic new food, enjoyed the tropical climate, and met people of diverse ethnicities, including Chinese, Malay and Indian.
MACS will consider a new program for the 2018-19 school year to help some children who are four or five years old ease into their public school experience.
Liam Mason of Hannibal was one of four students inducted into Elmira College’s Psi Tau Chapter of Phi Alpha Theta National History Honor Society during a recent ceremony in Meier Hall.
The free, family-friendly hike is scheduled at 11 a.m. each of the following Saturdays: April 7, 14 and 21; May 5, 12 and 19; June 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30; July 7, 14, 21 and 28; and Aug. 4, 11, 18 and 25.
Any residents of Oswego that would like to make their food dollars go farther may order April Food Sense packages until noon on April 13. All Oswego area residents may use the program.
