The Mexico Academy and Central School District is one step ahead of future changes to the New York State Testing Program. Next month, the district will begin the transition to computer-based testing when students in grades three through six take their New York State English language arts exams.
Fulton City School District will hold the fourth annual Parent University on Saturday, March 24 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at G. Ray Bodley High School. New this year, Parent University will include two showings of the award winning film, “Resilience.” As in years past, parents will have the opportunity to attend several informational sessions, attend student performances, and gather information from the community resource fair. Breakfast, lunch, transportation, and child surpervision is provided for free.
The United Way of Greater Oswego County held its Salute to Volunteers and Leadership Giving Luncheon Wednesday at The American Foundry. The Outstanding Special Event award was presented to Dufores Jewelry. Burritt Motors was the recipient of the Spirit of Community award.

Colleen Lightaul, 51, of Scriba, died Friday March 9, 2018, in Crouse Hospital, Syracuse.
This weekend, Fulton will transform into a basketball hub for several youth travel teams to partake in the 2018 Fulton Red Raider Basketball Challenge. The tournament will include teams from third grade through eighth grade, hosting games at four schools throughout the Fulton City School District and at the Fulton War Memorial. Games will begin on Friday, March 16 and will continue through Sunday, March 18.
