SUNY’s Blueline Club Brings ‘The Billionaires’ to Lake Ontario Event Center

The Oswego State Blueline Club is pleased to bring the campus and community together with Rockin’ the River with The Billionaires band on April 7. The band is made up of lead singer Anna White, guitarist Rob Hoston, keyboardist Kimo Cortini, bassist Andy Jordan and former Laker hockey player Daryl Hunt on drums. Hunt, a 1981 graduate of SUNY Oswego who played goaltender.

The NCAA has a significant problem on its hands regarding the issue of paying its Division I athletes. When it comes to this problem, there is no right or wrong answer, which makes this dilemma that much more difficult to solve. Since it is such an enormous process, it would take several years to implement a policy that would essentially alter the way Division I athletics operates.

Laker Men’s Hockey Pair Cited

Mitch Herlihey and Devin Campbell of the nationally-ranked Oswego State men’s ice hockey team have earned individual yearly awards from the State University of New York Athletic Conference. Herlihey, the Lakers’ senior captain, was named Herb Hammond Player of the Year, while Campbell – a junior – was named Defensive Player of the Year.

FFD Provides Naloxone Training Opportunities in Fulton

Members of the greater Fulton community will have two opportunities to obtain a Naloxone rescue kit after completion of a training class administered by Fulton Fire Department Lieutenant Adam Howard and the NYS Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASIS.) Naloxone, more commonly referred to as Narcan, is an opioid antagonist used to reverse the effects of an opioid overdose. Howard and members of OASIS will offer a two-hour training on Monday March 5 and Tuesday March 6 each beginning at 7 p.m. in the Community Room at the Fulton Municipal Building located at 141 South First Street.
