The Oswego State Equestrian Team has reclaimed its Regional Championship Team status after a one-year hiatus. This is the team’s eighth championship in the past nine years. This year’s season was closed with a 6-1-1 record.

In an effort to improve safety in schools across New York State and in the region she represents, State Senator Patty Ritchie is advocating for a number of efforts to better protect children and teachers from harm, as well as to improve mental health services for students. Among the changes being proposed by Senator Ritchie is the restoration of a program, known as the School Resource Officer Program.

Kailee Fantom of Fulton was named to the Dean’s List at Salisbury University for the fall 2017 semester. At Salisbury University, some 8,700 students in 43 undergraduate, 15 graduate and two doctoral programs pursue liberal arts and professional degrees.
Mariah Madrigal of the Oswego State women’s ice hockey team was named the inaugural Goalie of the Year by the Northeast Women’s Hockey League. The goaltender has helped Oswego to a 12-12-2 record in its first year as part of the NEWHL; with an upcoming appearance in the title game of the NEWHL Championship.
The Central Square Central School District has announced its schedule for March as “Music In Our Schools” month and the district invites students, parents and the entire Redhawks community to come support its outstanding student musicians. Concerts start tonight (March 1)
