Oswego County Legislator, District 5, Roy E. Reehill, chairman of the Human Services Committee, presented representatives from Oswego County Opportunities Services to Aid Families Program with a certificate proclaiming April as Sexual Assault Awareness Month in Oswego County.
St. Luke Family of Caring volunteers were recognized for the tremendous contributions made in the lives of those served by the local healthcare affiliates during a gathering held in their honor at St. Luke Health Services in Oswego. The gathering brought together volunteers of all ages from St. Luke, Bishop’s Commons and St. Francis Commons.
The Oswego County Health Department will hold its next rabies clinic from 6 to 8 p.m. May 2, at the County Highway Garage, 24 Dill Pickle Alley, Parish. New York State law requires that all cats, dogs, and ferrets be vaccinated against rabies. Ferrets must be vaccinated annually.
Gospel recording artists The Jacobs Brothers from Dillsburg, Pa., will be in concert at the Sandy Creek United Wesleyan Church on April 29.
The Oswego County Legislature proclaimed April as Child Abuse Prevention Month and presented a certificate to representatives of Oswego County’s Child Advocacy Center Foundation, Inc. and Department of Social Services.
The Oswego County Department of Social Services will host an informational meeting from 2 to 4 p.m. May 2, at the DSS office, 100 Spring St., Mexico, for people who are interested in becoming foster or adoptive parents.
G. Ray Bodley High School is home to some amazing teenage stars. The talent of students in grades nine through 12 was abound, with 20 acts performing a variety of numbers, from duets to musical numbers to guitar solos, belly dancing, comedy and singing.
Kaitlyn Kinney of Fulton was recently initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society. Kinney was initiated at Nazareth College.
The formal ceremony, complete with a procession of faculty and college officers in full academic regalia, is sponsored each spring at Oswego by Vega, the women’s honor society.
Oswego County’s Substance Use Disorder and Recovery Team will launch a new public awareness campaign at the Substance Awareness Family Education (SAFE) Fair April 29, at the Lake Ontario Conference and Event Center, 26 E. First St., Oswego.
