Lions River’s Edge Craft Show Set June 10
The event will take place at Breitbeck Park, on the west side of Oswego; a beautiful setting, where the Oswego River and Lake Ontario meet. Hours for the craft show will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Their ranks are thinning . . . but still they march on. On Monday, members of the area veterans’ and service groups spent the early morning visiting various parks and cemeteries in Oswego and surrounding communities paying tribute to our nation’s veterans. Once again, the Port City paused to honor and thank the men and women who fought and died for our freedoms.
Graveside services for Ellen G. Ridgway, 92, who passed away on Dec. 17, 2017, will be on Saturday June 2, 2018, at 11 a.m. in Phoenix Rural Cemetery.
Donald H. Case, 91, a resident of the town of Oswego, passed away on Thursday May 24, 2018, at Oswego Hospital.
Chris Perley brought Oswego Speedway to its feet last night when the ‘Rowley Rocket,’ the most successful winged Supermodified driver of all-time at the speedway, drove to his first ever non-wing victory in the second Jim Shampine Memorial Twin 50.
Defending Oswego Speedway track champion Dave Shullick Jr. parked the Futuri Media, John Nicotra Racing No. 2 machine in victory lane for his second straight opening night checkered in the first of two Jim Shampine Memorial twin feature events contested this past Saturday.
“Madeline” fans of all ages can celebrate Oswego’s connection with children’s author Ludwig Bemelmans in a full day of activities on June 2. The festival runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Fort Ontario State Historic Site and the nearby Oswego Civic Arts Center on East Fourth Street in Oswego.
Sasha loves being up high and watching her surroundings. She and her best foster pal, Rex, are always playing! Sasha is currently in a foster home with other cats and gets along great with all of them (although her very favorite is Rex. We told you about him last week).

The Oswego Bookmobile staff would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the students of Master Pryor’s Taekwando America. They raised $3,310 to benefit Oswego Bookmobile’s seven-week summer literacy program in Oswego.
