G. Ray Bodley High School’s Class of 2018 valedictorian and salutatorian are as humble as they are driven.
The combination of modesty, dedication and consistency has afforded Jacob Geitner and Madison Lang with the honor of being named the top two students of their graduating class. While the road hadn’t always come easy, valedictorian Geitner and salutatorian Lang had become laser-focused their junior year when they realized that honor was attainable.
The evening featured several instrumental accompaniments including senior band student Allison Pasco on the flute and piccolo and Oswego High School’s Principal, Patrick Wallace, on the tuba.
The annual Mexico Academic Award Ceremony recognized each class comprised of students who have earned honors distinction, outstanding student status, athletic accolades and special area recognition.
Thirty earth science honors students from John C. Birdlebough High School spent months researching various topics and developing hypotheses related to their area of study.
The Oswego County Conservative Committee met recently to endorse candidates for the 2018 elections. “We thank all who have chosen to run and represent the taxpayers of Oswego County,” the chairman said.
A project-based learning effort at Hannibal High School took a page out of ABC TV’s playbook with its own rendition of “Shark Tank.”
Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today (June 6) announced that more than $43.8 million will be awarded to support cancer prevention and early detection programs statewide over the next five years. Among the programs are two which impact Oswego County residents.
