Samuel J. Young, 38, formerly of Fulton, passed away suddenly on Sunday, April 22, 2018, in Gilbert, Ariz.
David Lee Ouzts, 63, of Fulton, passed away Wednesday May 30, 2018, at his home.
Douglas Parkhurst, 68, of West Newfield, Maine, has been identified by local authorities as the victim struck by a vehicle at a baseball game in Sanford on Friday (June 1.) Parkhurst was said to have pushed children out of the way of the vehicle which resulted in being the victim of a hit and run. The driver, Carol Sharrow, 52, has been arrested and charged with manslaughter according to a report from News Center Maine. No motive has been established. Parkhurst, formerly an Oswego resident, confessed in 2013 to fatally striking four-year-old Carolee Ashby with his car 50 years ago.
Last week, we talked about the dangers of leaving pets in cars in the summer. But, there are a lot of other hot weather issues that you need to be aware of and take sensible precautions. Today we will point out just a few things. We don’t mean to ruin our all too fleeting summers, but problems like heat stroke, burned paws and heart worm would be a lot more ruinous, don’t you think?

State Senator Patty Ritchie is once again ensuring more seniors have access to healthy, farm-fresh fruits and vegetables by helping them become eligible to receive free coupons that can be redeemed at local farmers’ markets. This year, thanks to funding secured by Senator Ritchie, 2,500 local seniors will be able to benefit from the program.
Members of the Fulton Amateur Radio Club will participate in the national Amateur Radio Field Day exercise, June 23-24 at Fort Ontario State Historic Site. Since 1933, ham radio operators across North America have established temporary ham radio stations in public locations during field day to showcase the science and skill of amateur radio.
The staff of a locally-well-known preschool and childcare business is enabling Oswego Health to provide new patient comforts to Oswego Hospital’s youngest emergency department patients. The employees of the Little Lukes, which provides preschool services and care for infants and toddlers, selected Oswego Hospital to benefit from its Friday jeans days, which raised $12,000.
