Mayor Barlow Officially Opens Renovated Oswego Harbor Trail

As a young boy, Billy Barlow would view the vista from Breitbeck Park overlooking Lake Ontario and say, “What if …?” Tuesday evening, Mayor Billy Barlow gazed out over the same panorama and said, “That’s more like it!” The mayor hosted a ribbon cutting event officially opening the newly renovated Oswego Harbor Trail along the shoreline of Lake Ontario.

Know When And Why To Say ‘No!’

At the August 9 Legislative meeting in Pulaski, after voting no on several resolutions that were either mandated by the courts or other contractual reasons, I was asked if I understood that these were issues that required a yes vote. I then said, “I can vote no on anything.” It is my feeling that just because the state or courts mandate the spending, if I don’t agree with it, I should and do vote no.

‘Resilience’ Screening and Panel Discussion Held

Integrated Community Planning of Oswego County, Inc., partnered with Prevent Child Abuse New York to host a screening of the groundbreaking film “Resilience: The Biology of Stress and the Science of Hope” on August 14. The documentary chronicles the promising beginning of a national movement to prevent childhood trauma, treat toxic stress, and greatly improve the health of future generations.
