Pet of the Week – Finnick
Finnick is almost 5 months old and strikingly handsome with beautiful orange stripes with white toes and under-belly. He’s a polydactyl cat, meaning he has extra toes. So his feet are big, which is very cute. He gets along well with cats of all ages, but in his heart of hearts he really is a people cat.

In my mind, one of the most selfless things a person can do is to be a living organ donor. In order to give the gift of life to another, a living organ donor not only sacrifices a part of his or her body for another, but also endures the necessary medical procedure, the healing and other hardships. While many have undertaken this incredibly generous act, there is a huge gap between those awaiting an organ or tissue transplant and the organs and tissues available for transplant.

In celebration of the 200th anniversary of the New York State Barge Canal, the H. Lee White Maritime Museum will hold the sixth annual Oswego Paddlefest on Aug. 18. Paddlers can choose one of two routes to paddle through four canal locks while they enjoy the unique beauty of the Oswego River.
