Oswego Hospital To Hold Blood Drive October 15
The blood drive will be held from 9 to 6 p.m. in the JPC conference room in the lower level of the Oswego Health Services Center, which is adjacent to Oswego Hospital.

ISMA Championship Title Chase A Close One Heading into Thompson World Series of Racing Finale October 13-14
It is not unusual to have the International Supermodified Series season title to go down to the wire, but this year’s chase is a little different. There are two relatively new names on top of the leaderboard. Epping, NH’s Dan Bowes sits just 16 points ahead of Bartlett, TN’s Kyle Edwards; neither of them has ever won an ISMA championship and both have just this season logged in their first career ISMA feature wins.

Jones Released From Prison; DA ‘Heartbroken, Frustrated and Angry’
Alan Jones was released from prison (Oct. 4). He was serving a sentence of 5 to 15 years. He strangled his 11-year-old step-sister in August of 2008 at their Palermo home.”I’m heartbroken, frustrated, and angry at the whole situation,” the DA told Oswego County Today today.

There’s More To The Story
To those of you who are not aware, I participated along with Shawn Doyle and Jim Maroney in trying to garner attention last summer to a 15-year-old boy that we had all become acquainted with. Maroney was the first to meet the teen and began counseling with him. He introduced the teen to Doyle for two reasons. The teen in question was looking for a summer job, and Maroney knew that the Rural and Migrant Ministry and the Half-Shire often hired local students to do yard work.

The Camping World Friday Night Lights Triple 30s brought the huge crowd to their feet with fantastic drives from winners Peter Britten, Danny Johnson, and Gary Lindberg. Graham Motorsports won two out of the three qualifiers making them the hot team of the weekend. NAPA Super DIRT Week surprise Gary Lindberg timed in the Top 6 and went on to win his 30-lap qualifier.

When the leaves start to turn people often head to the Adirondacks and, for sure, they have some awesome foliage. I especially like the ride to Old Forge and beyond. The panoramic view from the McCauley chair lift is awe inspiring. A boat ride on the Clearwater from Old Forge on the Fulton Chain is a relaxing way to see the area, but they are coming to the end of their season. However, the Finger Lakes are also a wonderful place for a fall trip.
