City of Fulton and Fire Department Reach Contract Agreement

The City of Fulton and the International Association of Fire Fighters Local 3063, the union representing Fulton Fire Department, have reached a contract agreement. A resolution unanimously approved by the Fulton Common Council determines salary increases throughout the department for the years of 2018, 2019 and 2020. The department will receive 0.5 percent increase in 2018, one percent increase in 2019, and one percent increase in 2020.

According to the American Cancer Society one out of eight women will get breast cancer in their lifetime. Here in Oswego County 13 people are diagnosed with cancer and 5 die from cancer each week. Female breast cancer accounts for 24.2% of all cancer cases and 10.3 % of all cancer deaths.

Committee Moves Ahead With Oswego ‘Social Host Law’ Proposal

At its meeting Monday night, the Planning and Development Committee sent a resolution regarding a tentative Social Host Law to the full council for consideration. Council vice president Kevin Hill brought the proposal to the committee for discussion. It is in response to young people, college students and others, migrating from the downtown bars to large house parties in residential neighborhoods, he explained.

UPK is available at no cost to students that turn four-years-old on or before December 1, 2018.
