Oswego Police Probe Possible Shooting — UPDATE

UPDATED As of 7:15 p.m., Oswego Police have cleared the scene on East Utica Street and have reopened that stretch of road for regular traffic flow.
At approximately 1:43 p.m. today (Oct. 26) Oswego Police responded to a possible shooting on East Utica Street between East 10th and Duer Street in the city of Oswego. Upon arrival, both the victim and the suspect were on scene. The suspect has been taken into custody. The investigation is on-going and East Utica Street between East 10th and East Ninth streets are closed to traffic as the investigation continues.

The Oswego County WWI Commemoration Project has worked with the county and city of Oswego, as well as local veterans’ organizations, to prepare special program at 1 p.m. Nov. 11 at Oswego Veterans’ Memorial Park (West Linear Park along the river), to recognize the 132 servicemen from Oswego County who died in the war and mark the 100th anniversary of the armistice that ended it.

Oswego County Opportunities Executive Director Diane Cooper-Currier announced that singer / songwriter Gary Carpentier will provide the entertainment for the agency’s “Giving Thanks” fundraiser. Oswego native Carpentier has spent the past 6 years performing throughout Central New York and beyond.
