Several rural transportation routes served by the Oswego Public Transit service will permanently close on Oct. 1. A new route will be re-structured to accommodate most of the areas.

With funding from a New York State Council on the Arts grant, the state-of-the-art light ‘package’ includes LED stage lights in a variety of sizes and features that are expected to greatly reduce the heat and energy use from traditional tungsten stage lights while offering a broader range of design capabilities.

The Oswego County Legislature’s Public Safety Committee presented a proclamation to staff from the county’s Emergency Management Office designating September as Disaster Preparedness Month.

First proclaimed in 1972, the recognition was issued to encourage citizens to wisely use and properly manage natural resources to ensure them for future generations.

The annual meeting of Friends of History will take place Wednesday, September 25, at 7 p.m. at the John Wells Pratt House Museum. A short business meeting will precede a program that has been arranged for this event.
