The class of 1961 committee members have scheduled their 50th Oswego High School Reunion for Friday, Aug. 12 through Sunday, Aug. 14. The event begins with a “Captain & Crew Golf Team” game at Battle Island State Park Golf Course at 10 a.m. on Aug. 12. The game fee will cover the game, cart, food, and prizes. Since this part of the event became such a fun time at the 45th reunion the committee decided to include it again in the 50th.

For “Friday Fun” the group will meet on the porch of The Press Box on E. First Street at 7 p.m. Snacks will be provided and a cash bar will be available. The committee will share numerous photos from days in high school and those from their previous reunions.

On Saturday afternoon at 12:30 p.m. many participants will meet at Rudy’s for lunch and see how much this place has changed since they went there in their youth. It’ll be lots of fun sharing memories as they have their great lunches together!

Starting at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 13, everyone will meet for a cocktail hour at The American Foundry to begin the “50 Years Fling”. At 7 p.m. there will be a delicious buffet dinner, and dancing to the great tunes that were popular in the late 50’s and early 60’s will start at 8 p.m. It will be a great time for all!

On Sunday morning, Aug. 14, the “Wish You Well” Brunch will occur at 10 a.m. This will take place at Canale’s Restaurant, which was the place to go after all high school dances, sports games – everything! There will be many “stories” to share there. It will also be a nice way to conclude the event and bid farewell to classmates until they meet again at their 55th Reunion.

Anyone who attended high school or catholic high school sometime around 1961 is more than welcome to attend the event. The classmates would all love to share these moments with you! For more information or ways to participate contact reunion committee members Lyn Patterson, phone 343-2343 or Peg McKinstry, phone 343-9228.
