On July 8, Fulton resident John W. McEachen won a silver medal in the ultra sparring division (under 68kg age 41-50) at the 2013 USA-Taekwondo Senior National Championships in Chicago.
The event took place over the 4th of July weekend.

McEachen is a Border Patrol Agent at the Oswego Station, and has lived in Fulton since 2000.
He was promoted to 3rd Dan in 2006 by Master Ray Smith in Summerville, SC, and currently trains at Oswego Taekwondo America.
He is married and has two children, so he says that most of his training has to be done early in the morning, when the rest of the family is still asleep.

To prepare for Nationals, he ran at the Fulton High School track once a week, and lifted weights in his garage on the other mornings, in addition to taekwondo training on Friday nights in Oswego.
