OSWEGO, NY – Carl M. Schwitter, 76, of Oswego Town died Tuesday April 12, 2016.
He was born in Oswego January 26, 1940, the son of the late Balz and Elizabeth (Schiesser) Schwitter.
Mr. Schwitter retired from Alcan as a metal truck driver after many years of service.
Mr. Schwitter served in the United States Army from 1962 until 1965.
He was a member of the VFW Post 5885, and the American Legion.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and especially going out for dinner with his family.
He is survived by his siblings Kathryn Creighton of Fulton, Alice Ketcham of Oswego, Mildred Durfee of Chittenango, James (Shirley) Schwitter of Oswego, Doris Schwitter of Oswego and John (Carole) Schwitter of Hannibal; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by siblings David Schwitter, Mary Jones, Francis Schwitter, Robert Schwitter, Janet Engle and Barbara Lisk.
Funeral services will be Monday April 18, at 3 p.m. at the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home, Oswego.
Calling hours will be Monday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home, 147 W. Fourth St., Oswego, NY.

I was saddened to learn of his passing. He was my parents neighbor but also a friend. He will be greatly missed.
