Accident Kills a Woman in Granby

A woman from Pennsylvania died Monday morning in a car crash along Route 48 in Granby, according to State Police.

Police report that a Mazda minivan was heading south on Route 48 at about 9:54 a.m. when it drifted off the road and ran into a ditch. The car then hit a driveway culvert and flipped into the air. It landed on its passenger side on the other side of the driveway.

Four people were in the van: Wade Nace, 45; Barbara A. Nace, 56 and Colby Prough, 18, of 717 North State St., York, PA and Kayla L. Detter, 18, of Lyndhurst, PA.

Barbara Nace was thrown partly from the vehicle, according to police. She suffered injuries to her face and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The three survivors were taken to University Hospital. Police believe their injuries were not life-threatening.

Police say they are continuing to investigate how the accident happened.
