American Legion took home their share of recognition at the Annual Convention in Buffalo this weekend

Central New York Veterans of the American Legion took home their share of recognition at the Annual Convention in Buffalo this weekend. On Thursday Keith Colston from Onondaga was sworn in as District Five Commander. The district includes Oswego, Oneida, Herkimer, Jefferson and Lewis Counties. Keith is also the Onondaga County Service Officer. County Veterans can find Keith at the County Office Building making sure veterans have the information they need to get their earned benefits.

Led by Dick Palmer Oswego Veterans began with Delos Rowlee receiving First Place for the content and its delivery of veteran news in the Oswego County Newsletter. Followed by Dolores Reed and Eileen Yager elected as Vice Presidents of the NYS American Legion Press Association.
On Friday The Twenty and Four; Honor Society of Women Legionnaires elected Eileen Yager as its 2009/10 Director. On Saturday Kriss Lecca National Director of the 20/4 was introduced to the convention by Director Yager.
Jaime Brassard of Jefferson County was named Fifth District organizer for the National Campaign of Fang Wong who will be running in 2011 for Commander. And finally Dave Walker ended his year as Department Vice Commander for District Five and Six.
The convention closed doors at noon on Saturday and all headed home for a little R&R.
