Area runners and walkers can support Oswego Health’s cancer outreach and educational support services, as they participate in the health system’s annual Charity Walk/Run on May 17.
The event is dedicated to those in our community who have been affected by cancer.
The route at the Seneca Hill Health community is a certified 3.1 (5K) mile course for runners and walkers, and the race will be professionally timed.
Participants can also walk a 1.5 mile course.
Check in begins at the upper parking lot of The Manor at Seneca Hill at 8 a.m., with the race starting at 9 a.m.
Participants may honor cancer survivors or remember a friend or loved one lost by the disease by writing their names on a poster at the event.
The pre-registration fee is $15 for adults and $10 for children.
Same day registration is $20.
Those who take part in the walk/run may also seek pledges, however this is not required.
For anyone collecting $50 or more in pledges, the registration fee will be waived.
A registration form is available on the Oswego Health website at oswegohealth.org and participants can also register on line by visiting EZRaceReg.com
Awards will be presented for the top three finishers in each event, male and female, and for the top three collecting the greatest amount in pledges.
Door prizes will also be given.
