Members of the Altmar Elementary, Parish Elementary and the APW Middle School parent groups are working together to create a positive environment for students in the Altmar-Parish-Williamstown School District.
The groups are sponsoring two upcoming anti-bullying events for parents of APW students in grades UPK – sixth. The proactive goal of the group is to develop a greater understanding of the bullying issue and to develop a plan to address it.
The first event will look at the district’s bullying policies and procedures currently in place. It will be held on May 31 starting at 6:30 p.m. in the APW Middle School cafeteria. There will be a question and answer session with the APW superintendent of schools along with the elementary and middle school building principals.
The second forum will be held on June 7 in the APW Middle School cafeteria beginning at 6:30 p.m. It will feature NYS Trooper Jack Keller who will share information with parents on what they can do to prevent bullying and how to deal with it if they are ever faced with the issue.
The two forums are open to the parents of APW district students in UPK – sixth grades. Refreshments will be available for both forums.
