Bernadine “Bernie” Fragale, a resident of James Square, Syracuse, NY, since April 23, 2007, died peacefully at St. Joseph Hospital in Syracuse Sunday December 9, 2012, after a brief illness.

And his handler, Trooper Shaun Smith, says he’s happy to be part of a small group of people — officers who handle police dogs.
