Oswego State women’s soccer team drops match to Brockport
The Oswego State women’s soccer team (5-8-0, 2-6-0 SUNYAC) trailed 3-0 heading into halftime, as the Lakers lost to Brockport (12-1-2, 5-5-1 SUNYAC), 3-1, on a chilly Saturday afternoon.
The Oswego County Humane Society and Petfinder.com are participating in the national “Foster a Lonely Pet for the Holidays” pet fostering program. These new holiday foster families will take pets into their care for the holiday season and help the Humane Society find new permanent homes for them.
Held recently at the Fulton War Memorial, the event provided area youth with an afternoon of fun that included free school supplies, lunch bags packed with a healthy lunch, face painting, complimentary haircuts, dental screenings, presentations on health and safety education and more.
The traveling display, which was created as part of the 150th anniversary of President Lincoln establishing the award, features the more than 45 local individuals who have received our nation’s highest military honor for their service in America’s armed forces.
Cow Belle’s Farm Report on September 21 was a delightful addition to “Positively Parish.”
It has inspired me to report on some of Parish’s lesser known citizens, as seen on the critter cams at Skunk Meadows or out on the back roads. Autumn has brought the first over flights of Canada Geese, headed vaguely south.

In recognition of Domestic Violence Month, OCO’s Services to Aid Families Program has planned a number of activities and events to help raise awareness of domestic violence in the county and educate the community on the services that are available through SAF.
