Charles E. Riley Sixth Grades Celebrate Success

The Charles E. Riley Elementary School recently conducted its sixth grade ceremonies and McKenzie LaDue received the “Principal’s American Citizenship Award” while Grace Hibbert (right) was the recipient of the “Triple ‘C’ Award” and the yearbook was dedicated to CER custodian Ray Hibbert, Grace’s grandfather.The Charles E. Riley Elementary School sixth grade honors assembly provided the opportunity to recognize those students moving on to the Oswego Middle School while at the same time congratulating them for their academic effort.

Ritchie Bill Boosts Effort To Find Vaccine For EEE

Lady Raiders Honored By Fulton City Council

The Fulton high school girls’ lacrosse team had an outstanding season, finishing with a 15 and 4 record; winning the OHSL Freedom League Championship and had an outstanding effort in the State Class B Championship. On Tuesday night, they were honored by the Fulton council.

New book explores cougars’ return to Midwest habitats

John Laundre of SUNY Oswego's biological sciences faculty shows the cover of his book, "Phantoms of the Prairie: The Return of Cougars to the Midwest," available at Internet booksellers and due soon to bookstores. The book foresees cougar populations returning to small areas in all Midwestern states -- and potentially, the East -- and documents where that has already occurred in South Dakota and Nebraska.Dr. John Laundre, an adjunct member of SUNY Oswego’s biological sciences faculty, documents the return of cougars to the Midwest in a new book that looks at their past and sees potential for an Eastern return for these large predators.
