ISMA Supermodifieds & Xtreme Sprints Chase Oswego Speed Record
On July 7 the Speedway will host the annual Burke’s Do-It-Best Home Centers/CNY Central King of Wings, but with a twist. Joining the International Supermodified Association (ISMA) Supermodifieds will be the world record holding MustSeeRacing.com Xtreme Sprint Car Series, which has set new track records at every track they have competed at this season.

Friends of Great Bear to Hold Ash Tree Tagging Event June 23
Friends of Great Bear will host a community environmental project to increase public awareness of the threat of the emerald ash borer at Great Bear Recreation Area from 10 a.m. to noon June 23. Joe Chairvolotti, forester for the Oswego County Soil and Water Conservation District, will lead a hike and help people identify and tag ash trees.

Summer Food Service Starts Monday In Oswego
Oswego School Food Service Director Dennis Jerome has announced that the district will participate in the Summer Food Service Program. Locally, the Oswego high School and Oswego YMCA will be the sites for breakfast and lunch.

Free Market Fair At Granby Elementary
This week, students in Granby Elementary sixth grade participated in a “Free Market Fair.”
The fair was a culminating activity for an economics unit in which students studied types of economies and the components of each.

Training Session Helps Clean Up Harbor
The city of Oswego Fire Department divers along with a member of the city’s Department of Public Works took their annual harbor dive recently. It is a duel purpose event combining a diving training session with a cleanup of debris in the Oswego River.
