National Mentoring Month
In recognition of National Mentoring Month, Catholic Charities of Oswego County’s CYO Mentoring Program held a luncheon recently to honor junior high and high school students from the Fulton, Sandy Creek, and Mexico school districts who volunteer as mentors for their local elementary students.
For those who would like to have a preview, Rudy’s will be serving the next Salvation Army Guest Chef dinner on March 7, 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. They will be preparing some of their popular sea foods, including clams, scallops, and fish, along with dessert and beverages.
Oswego County Legislature Chairman Fred C. Beardsley recently presented a proclamation designating the month of March as American Red Cross Month in Oswego County.
“The Titanic Event Committee would like to thank the owners of the Beacon Hotel, Felacia and Atom Avery, for hosting this community event,” said Mercedes Niess, executive director of the museum. “They have done a marvelous job restoring and renovating this early 1900s historic structure and it was the perfect setting for our step back in time.”
