Oswego Lacrosse Teams Can’t Solve L’Pool

Oswego lacrosse teams were back in action on Tuesday as Liverpool provided the opposition. In Liverpool, the OHS boys’ varsity lost 16-9 to the host Warriors for the first loss of the season. In Oswego at Wilber Field, the Lady Bucs lost 16-6.

Mexico, Fulton Advance in Drug Quiz Show

Mexico Middle School students won first place in the Oswego County Drug Quiz Show. From left, in the first row, are Victoria Ross and Andrea Ross.  In the back, from left, are advisor Jeff Raner, Nick Carson, Aaron Shopland,  Joseph Gardener, David Sheets, Bryannia Sutton, and advisor Lisa Szewczyk.Mexico Middle School and Fulton Junior High have advanced to the state regional playoffs, after winning first and second place, respectively, in the Oswego County Drug Quiz Show. The state regional playoffs will take place Wednesday, April 6 at the Marley Education Center in Syracuse.

FPS Freaky Friday Assists Disaster Relief

Fitzhugh students support Relief effort

Fitzhugh Park School held “Freaky Friday” as a culmination to its annual March Madness month. The day was designed to have the school show support for the Red Cross Japan Disaster Relief Fund. Schools throughout the Oswego City School District held similar events to raise money for the same cause.

Virtue of the Month Awards at Fairgrieve Recognize Students’ Perseverance

Oswego County Legislature Presents Proclamation to Snowmobilers

Members of the Oswego County Legislature’s Economic Development and Planning Committee recognized volunteers who helped with the SnowTrailsTV tourism promotion this winter. From left are Legislators Arthur Ospelt, District 12; Mary Flett, District 17; committee chairman Fred Beardsley, District 9; Ed Montieth, president of the Oswego County Snowmobile Association; Tracy Carvell, volunteer coordinator for the Oswego County Snowmobile Association; Bob and Carolyn Prockup of the Kasoag Trailblazers, who led the steering committee; David Turner, director of Community Development, Tourism and Planning, and Legislators Jacob Mulcahey, District 15; Morris Sorbello, District 23; Louella LeClair, District 25; and Shawn Doyle, District 3. The Oswego County Legislature’s Economic Development and Planning Committee presented a proclamation to members of the Oswego County Snowmobile Association in March, thanking them for their assistance in the recent filming for the nationally-syndicated SnowTrailsTV show.
