Village of Phoenix Police Chief Rod Carr died this morning, officials say.
He suffered a heart attack at home.
Carr began his career as a news anchor on what was then WIXT, Channel 9. He became spokesman for the Syracuse Police Department under then-Chief of Police Thomas Sardino.
Carr lived in Clay with his wife.
The Hartford Courant has the wonderful love story of Bill Hart and Phyllis O’Brien.
They fell in love when they were students at what was then called Oswego State Teachers College. Bill went off to war. Phyllis, of Baldwinsville, dated and then married another man. Bill married when he came home from the war.
Plans are well underway for the Junior Prom. Also today, a trip to the movies and the story behind St. Patrick’s Day.

Recently a reading celebration was held at the Frederick Leighton Elementary School. It celebrated the birthday of Dr. Seuss.

On Thursday, the author of The Kept Secret and The Soma Man, told members of the Oswego Sunrise Rotary about writing novels. The process of writing his first book taught him many lessons about publishing and editing books. He is editing his third book which he hopes will be out this summer.
