Wilde, a photographer and a resident of Hannibal, is well known because of his work which appeared in the local news over a period of 26 years.

One critic hailed his work because of “his keen eye that created wonderful compositions, whether he was taking photos of local scenes, or doing nature photography.”

The end results were often times unique depictions of familiar scenes.

The library display includes photographs of local scenes like the lighthouse, Fort Ontario, the Oswego River and Lake Ontario.

Nature views include leaves and a milkweed bursting its pod.

The display includes about 12 to 15 photographs.

One of his favorites is in the canoe near Battle Island in the old abandoned canal on the east side of the Oswego River.

The exhibition is open during library hours on the lower level outside the community room through the end of April.
